If the answer to your question isn’t here then please contact us and we’d be happy to help.
I’ve got an injury/medical condition, can I still attend your classes?
We truly believe here at Redwood Yoga that yoga is for everyone. There are so many variations of poses and sequences that any class can be tailored to suit all abilities. If you have an existing injury, an old injury or a medical condition please contact us and we will have an open discussion about what we will be able to provide. Your privacy is very important to us, so any details you share with us will be read in the strictest confidence and never shared.
If you are able to join us at our classes, we will tailor them specifically to you. If you attend our in person classes, we will speak to you before every class to explain which poses you will need to adapt. If you attend our virtual classes, we will provide you with a handout of the class sequence with your adaptations explained prior to the class (you can keep this too!).
What is a PAR-Q and why do I need to fill one in?
Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) is a series of questions that help us as instructors determine if you are ready too attend the class. It will highlight to us if you have any medical conditions or if there is anything in your medical history we should know about.
You will need to fill out our PAR-Q: before you attend your first class; if your medical status changes; or after 12 months have passed, to make sure it is current. It takes 5 minutes to complete and can be done online!
The details you share with us on your PAR-Q are stored on our password secure database and never shared with anyone. You can read more in our privacy policy.
What do I need to bring to class?
You will need a yoga mat, these can be brought in a number of places now including online, in sports store and in supermarkets. If you are just starting out there is no need to buy a very expensive one, you can always upgrade later, they make great Christmas presents!
We also encourage you to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing you can move in. You might also like to bring along warm layers, a blanket and eye mask for the relaxation phase.
You can bring along props to help you modify and progress some of the yoga poses during the class. This is optional and something you might want to discuss with your instructor. Unfortunately, we are not loaning these out at the moment.
Do you offer military/NHS/blue light discount?
